Oi! – A Free Font with a Special Story

This continues the series of special freebies that started with IBM’s new typeface Plex.

Oi! is a very interesting display font with an awesome story and with roots in the grotesque slab serifs.

It’s lovingly characterized by its author as clarendonesque, free spirited and ultra-chubby, “With an unapologetic tendency for public shouting, […] a whimsical loudmouth attention seeker”

Features

  • Two styles: Oi! You! (regular) and Oi! Mate! (shadowed style)
  • Language support: Latin and Greek
  • OpenType features: discretionary ligatures, some stylistic alternates
  • Includes installable desktop fonts (.OTF, .TTF), webfonts (.EOT, .WOFF, .WOOF2), and color fonts (.EOT, .WOFF, .WOFF2)

Big thank you to Kostas Bartsokas for sharing this.
