67 Best Free Fonts That Support Vietnamese
Vietnamese typography asks more of a typeface than most Latin-based languages ever will. Between the breves, circumflexes, horns, and the five tone marks that can stack directly above or below a base letter, a font either handles the diacritics gracefully or it turns every paragraph into a slightly cramped, collision-prone mess. Finding free fonts that support Vietnamese properly, with clean spacing and well-drawn accents rather than glyphs bolted on as an afterthought, matters enormously for anything from a Hanoi coffee shop’s menu to a Ho Chi Minh City startup’s brand system.
Google Fonts has quietly become one of the best places to source this kind of type, and the options below cover editorial serifs, workhorse UI sans-serifs, display faces, handwriting styles, and code-ready monospace fonts, all free to download and use in commercial work.

Pairing and using these fonts on the web
For anything text-heavy in Vietnamese, prioritize a body font with a tall x-height and generous letter spacing, since tone marks need room to sit clearly above the base character.
Pair a display serif like Playfair Display or Alegreya with a plain, dependable sans like Inter or Source Sans 3 for the body copy underneath it.
Always test a font at the actual size it will be used, since diacritics that look fine at 24px can blur together at 14px, especially in condensed or ultra-bold styles.
When embedding these families through Google Fonts, make sure the Vietnamese subset is actually loaded; some implementations default to the basic Latin subset only, which will silently drop the accents your text depends on.
